Mr. Robert L. Holdsworth

HOLDSWORTH, Robert L. – 90, of Scituate, formerly of Boston passed away peacefully on the morning of April 25, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Anne M. (Walsh) Holdsworth, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Devoted father of Robert Holdsworth, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of CT, Ellen Burns and her husband Marc of NC, Paul Holdsworth of MA and Sue Ficken and her husband Frank of NH.

Cherished “Grampy” of Sarah, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Jack and Chris.

Bob was a veteran of the US Navy serving his country during WWII. He later worked for 33 years in the banking industry following in his father’s footsteps.

A man of gentle strength, unmatchable kindness and generosity, and abundant love for family, friends, neighbors, and the Red Sox. He set the example teaching responsibility, accountability, strong work ethic, love for family, consideration of others and humility. We will miss his laugh, his guidance, his blue eyes, his hugs, and his mantra of "Go get 'em, pal!"

Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate on Monday at 9 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate. Interment to follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 PM.
