

Jake was a veteran of the US Coast Guard. He was retired from Young’s Boatyard in Scituate and was known to many of the town’s boaters and fisherman. Teddy always held a special place in his heart for Ohio and the family farms. In Scituate, he served as a Cub Scout Pack Leader and Boy Scout Troop Leader. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at the Scituate Historical Society and helping his wife Fran out with the Special Olympics and the Scituate Commission on Disabilities.
Jake was the beloved husband of Frances, Dad to Michele (Michael), Scott, Tom (Linda) and Kyle (Magali). He was Papa to Patti (Curt), Julie (Chris), Tom (Kristin), Chivon (Matthew), Abby, Robert, Mariah, Ellie, Gregory, Adeline and Allison. He had a special place in the hearts of sister-in-Law Patricia Deeghan and the late James E. Deeghan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Funeral home service on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment at 1:15 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
