So sorry to hear of the passing of Tim. We were neighbors on Christopher Lane in Scituate and grew up together. I came across this photo going through my parents’ photos after their deaths. All the Gaudreaus were wonderful kids and great neighbors. We loved swimming in their pool and playing sports on their lawn. I also used Swim With Tim for my kids and he was a pro!! So sorry for your loss.

We have known Tim as a friend and neighbor for 18 years, and then got to see him doing what he loved as a swim coach at the Scituate Harbor Yacht Club.  We will never forget his kindness and gentle demeanor, just a wonderful man.   Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

We first started swim lessons with Tim 6 years ago.  It was immediately clear that Tim was uniquely gifted when it came to connecting with children.  He would always joke with the kids to make them laugh and put them at ease.  My face always hurt from smiling and laughing after watching my kids’ lessons with Tim.   As a family over the years, we have found ourselves quoting Tim regularly.  Here are some of our favorite Tim quotes: 

When greeting one of the kids:
“Hi Santa!”
or
“Hey Teddy! What’s your name?”

In reference to kids’ parents: 
“Hey Teddy! Who’s that lady over there?”

“Patty cake. Patty cake. Kick, kick, kick”

“Chicken, airplane, soldier”

“You gots it?!?!”

“OK?!?!”

“Don’t drink the pool!”

“Keep your belly up to float like a boat or you’ll sink like a stone”

When a kiddo got water in their nose:
“Hummmmm”

When a kiddo got water in their eyes:
“Blink, blink, blink”

Tim: “Liddy how old are you?”
Liddy: “6”
Tim: “26?!??”

Tim will forever be quoted in our home.  Words cannot express our sense of loss at his passing. But his memory will always be of light, laughter, and positivity.

Tim and I knew each other some 30+ years ago when we worked in the same hospital. Tim worked on a unit for very troubled 4-12 year olds and was a strong role model for his co-workers and a source of stability and consistency for the unit and its patients. Tim and I also knew each other from the Percy Walker pool where for many years Tim was involved with training life guards, providing swim lessons, and coaching his swim team, the Dolphins, which one of my sons swam on, Tim welcomed children to his team regardless of ability and, through a positive approach and excellent instruction helped many kids improve and excel in the pool. My children all knew Tim from the pool and were always impressed that he knew everyone's name, whether or not they were on his team or in his lessons. Tim has a positive impact on many people over many years. Though we haven't seen each other in quite some time it is nonetheless saddening and shocking that Tim has passed at such a young age and with so much potential to do good in the world and enjoy his family. I offer my sincerest sympathies to Tim's family and can only imagine the loss and heartbreak you are living with at this difficult time.

Our family is heartbroken over the loss of Tim. Our kids have been taking lessons with Tim for over eight years.  Tim was so kind and funny with our kids and had an unending amount of patience.  He encouraged our kids way beyond the swimming pool.  We will all miss him so much.  Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.

We are so sorry. Words cannot express the loss we are all feeling. Tim was such a kind, gentle-spirited man. He taught swim lessons at our club for so many years and we’ve known Tim for decades. He had that special way of making everyone love their experience in the water. I watched him bring adults and children from having a fear of the water to becoming an avid swimmer. Everyone loved Tim. 
He was so proud of his family. He so often spoke of his children with pride. He will be so missed at Webb‘s. He will be so missed in this world… he gave so much.

Tim has been part of our lives for 9 years. We are so heartbroken. He was so patient, kind and gentle. My son with sensory issues can swim because of Tim.

I am so sad and sorry to hear of Tim’s passing. My sons took swim lessons with Tim for the past year and a half. He was able to get my younger son comfortable with the water although he had been terrified prior to the start of his lessons. And my older son loves swimming now and had made so much progress with Tim’s teaching and encouragement.  
He was such a patient, kind, funny and loving man and we all truly enjoyed seeing him each week. I will forever be grateful to him for teaching my boys and being so kind to them. We will all miss him terribly and are sending our love to his family. 



We’re all so sad to hear of Tim’s passing. We started swimming with him in January and over the last 8 months he’s transformed my son to a swimming pro. He was the kindest man with the patience of a saint to put up with my Ben. He will be missed by our family. Thinking of all his family during this difficult time. 

Our family will miss Tim so much. He taught both our kids to swim and we will never forget his kindness and dedication. 

Tim could always make our kids laugh and smile, it made swimming relaxed and stress free. They were able to learn and do things they would have never tried without him there to encourage them. Thank you so much Tim! We will forever love and miss you!

My 6 year old daughter met Tim over the summer taking lessons at Webb's.  She felt an instant connection and was looking forward to each class.  She told us that Tim was so funny and kind, with all of his "silly" jokes.  We only knew Tim for a few months but can't believe he is gone.  So, so sorry...

I’m sorry to hear this ! My sincere condolences to Tim’s entire family. 

My two children took swimming lessons with Tim. He always made them laugh and was incredibly patient and caring if they were scared. I loved watching him teach, because I saw how much he loved helping others learn such an a important skill. 

We recently moved out of state and my youngest, who was terrified of the water prior to Tim’s lessons, is now swimming like a fish.  The kids wanted to make a video to show Tim, and we did.  I texted it to him, just this past Sunday.

I knew he loved it, because he not only wrote me back that day, but also wrote again the next day, early Monday morning. 

I am so glad that we were able to send him something that made him smile.

I am so sorry to hear of Tim’s passing. My kids have been swimming with Tim for 8 years.   He was one of the most kind, genuine and supportive people (both as a swim instructor and human being). My kids adored Tim.   He would always have my kids laughing during class.  We always had time to chat during lessons and it was clear he adored his family. I feel so fortunate to have met Tim and had my children taught by him.  The world is a little less bright without Tim in it. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I am so saddened to hear about Tim’s passing. He was an amazing swim teacher to both my children. He converted my daughters resistance to swimming into a love and I really feel he was the only one who could have done that. I would often chat with him throughout the lessons. He told me about his amazing trip to Disney this past winter with his grandchildren and daughter. He credited his daughter for being an amazing planner and talked about how grateful he was to have such a nice trip with family. He talked about all his kids all the time with such pride. He told me about his son who was becoming and had since became a Norwell Police officer. He told me how happy he was to have all of his children turn out so successful and accomplished. He said he really felt like he did his job.  What a huge loss for all of you. He was an amazing guy. You are in my thoughts.
