Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Bill attended school there until his senior year, when he moved to Scituate, graduating from Scituate High School in 1966. After an honorable discharge from the US Navy, he graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1970. Bill began working at Chase Manhattan Bank in NYC, becoming Vice President of Corporate Lending. Bill's successive moves took him to Bahrain, and London, England. After his international postings, Bill continued working for Chase in NYC and Connecticut.
Following his career at Chase he moved to Scituate in 1998 where he continued his work as a consultant in corporate lending. Bill and his family had frequently visited Scituate during his international travels, and he felt most at home there. He had a great passion for learning, especially about travel, politics, artwork, and naval history. He was proud to have had the chance to follow in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps during his brief time with the United States Navy.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, seizing the opportunity to entertain with stories of his adventures and misadventures traveling the world with small children. He spent many happy retirement days in Scituate, antiquing with his dear friend Anne Diana. He also enjoyed serving as chef at her numerous gatherings. Bill’s family would like to express their gratitude to Ann Diana and to his sister Anne, for their loving care of Bill in his final years.
