

Anita Bauer, 78, of Gering, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A private family viewing will take place. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jason Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Anita was born on December 31, 1937 in Winner, South Dakota to Leonard and Lena (Meier) Keesey. She later moved to Gering and was raised by her mom and step-dad Lena and Harry Haverick. She attended Gering Schools and graduated from Gering High School in 1956.
In 1958 Anita was united in marriage to Richard Bauer in Scottsbluff, to this union two children were born.
Anita worked at Helen’s House of Style in Gering and Kay’s World of Gifts in Scottsbluff, before becoming a stay at home mom. Anita’s main focus was to brighten everyone’s world she was around. She touched many hearts with laughter. She loved making people smile and hugged everyone she came into contact with. Anita was full of love and full of life. She especially enjoyed spending time with her wonderful family and friends and going for a ride with Richard in their Ford Model A “Sophie”. Anita also took great pride in her house and yard.
Anita is survived by her husband Richard, son Brad Bauer of Denver, Colorado, sister Sharon Gehl of Gering, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
