Betty J. Wilhelm, 87, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Born on May 30, 1938, in Fresno, California, she lived a full and vibrant life rooted in love for her family and community. Betty was the daughter of James H. Rodgers and Betty E. Conley (Tynes). She spent her early years in California and Arizona, where she attended school and began building the foundation of a life centered around family and connection.
Throughout her life, betty found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful pastimes. She had a passion for crocheting, creating countless handmade treasures that reflected her care and creativity. She was also an active member of Good Sam Camping Club and the High Plains Car Club, enjoying time spent with others who shared her interests. Family was at the heart of everything Bety did. She deeply loved those closest to her and took pride in watching her family grow through generations.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Jim) Rodgers; sister Ellen Rodgers; brother Richard (Lilian) Rodgers; grandchildren Kellie Rodgers, James Rodgers, Katie (Jerry) Stiff, Donna (Billy) Martin, Bradley Robey, Kyle Robey, Darling Browning, and Todd (Janelle) Browning; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband George J. Wilhelm Sr.; sons Richard Robey, Dennis Robey, and George J. Wilhelm Jr.; daughters Terrylynn Robey and Deborah Browning; her father James H. Rodger; mother Betty E. Conley (Tynes); sister Margie Pennel, Karen Rodgers; grandson Ricky Robey; and great-grandson Gage P. Stiff. Betty’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her warmth and devotion. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 12, 2025, at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel, 3201 Ave B, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, 69361.
