Dave R. Briones

Dave R. Briones, 80, of Scottsbluff, entered into Eternal Rest, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his home with numerous family members by his side. A Mass of Resurrection will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Flott officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home between 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Dave was born January 6, 1928 in Scottsbluff, NE to Refugio and Maria (Puentes) Briones. He received his education in Scottsbluff and married Bertha Gollas April 19, 1948 in Scottsbluff. He was employed by Swift & Co. as a butcher for twenty-five years before the company closed. Dave was an accomplished musician and played drums and sang in many area bands. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Dave was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Dave is survived by his wife Bertha; daughters: Olga (Robert) Blanco, Gering, and Stella Urdiales of Denver, CO, sons: Roy Briones, Scottsbluff and David Stephen (Trina) Briones of Casper, WY; brothers: Raymond (Natalia) Brionez, and Marciano Brionez all of Denver, CO; sister: Sally Dittmar, Gering, NE; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons: Dave Briones, Jr., and Henry Rick Briones, grandson: Jesse James Urdiales; great grandson Robert Reyes Briones, one sister Carmen Rodriguez and two nephews Raymond Brionez, Jr. and Rodney Brionez.
