

David Quinn Gulick, 62, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, September 22, 2006, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A graveside memorial service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 27, 2006, in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jake Roberts officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Nebraska National Guard. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. David was born January 22, 1944, at Onawa, Iowa to Fred and Goldie (Flitcher) Gulick. He was raised at Sloan, Iowa. He served in the United States Navy from January 24, 1962 to January 23, 1968. Following his discharge he returned to Sloan where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in 1980, where he continued to work as a contractor and later as a TV repairman. On January 19, 1989, he married Shirley Birdsall at Grand Junction. They moved to Scottsbluff in February of 2006. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; son, David Gulick of Sloan, Iowa; stepsons, Daniel Newens of Mitchell, Dennis Newens and Charles Newens both of Scottsbluff; four grandchildren; sister, Pat DeJong of Hinton, Iowa; and brothers, Fred Gulick and Zane Gulick both of Sloan. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
