Deloris Marlene Schledewitz

Deloris Marlene (Haverick) Schledewitz, 75, of Alliance, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance with Pastors Richard C. Mueller and Martin T. Schnare officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance and Panhandle Humane Society in Scottsbluff. Deloris was born April 18, 1932, in Gering, Nebraska to Henry and Helen (Nagel) Haverick. She attended schools in Gering, graduating from Gering High School. Deloris married Walter Schledewitz December 19, 1951, in Gering. To this union two daughters were born, Jan and Dianna. The couple made their home in Scottsbluff, Bayard, Hemingford and retiring to Alliance after many years of farming. Deloris was a devoted mother and wife who supported her husband in farming the majority of her married life. She worked in Greens Dairy, Phrohs Furniture and Scotts Bluff County Assessor all in Gering and Brown Bean and Western Sugar in Bayard. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, art, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family and granddaughters. She loved animals, especially a pet dog she named “Dusty.” Deloris’ three granddaughters fondly remember her as “Grandma Dusty.” She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance and taught Sunday school for many years. Deloris is survived by her husband Walter of 56 years; daughters and son-in-law Jan and Gene Trackwell of Gering and Dianna Rae Schledewitz of Maryville, Missouri; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Gary Beck of Portland, Oregon; granddaughters Jennifer Trackwell of Denver, Colorado, Stephanie Trackwell and Fiancé Andrew Hrasky of Minatare and Linsey Trackwell of Gering; great-granddaughter Hannah Renee Hrasky of Minatare; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Reuben and Deloris Schledewitz of Gering, Wilbert and Nadine Schledewitz, Darline Dietz and Doris Reifschneider all of Scottsbluff. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; infant grandson Jeffrey Alan Trackwell; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jean Haverick and brother-in-law Charlie Reifschneider.
