

Donna Mae Cox, 56, of Scottsbluff, after a brave fight with cancer, God called her home, February 10, 2008. She was surrounded with family and friends. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008, at First Assembly of God Church in Scottsbluff. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. The family asks that instead of flowers a memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Donna was born May 7, 1951, at Scottsbluff to George and Annie (Bugher) Cox. She received her education in Torrington, Wyoming. She was employed the Cavalier Motel, Gering Mini Mart, Lucky Lady, Bailey’s Town and Country, City Limits, Golden Living Center and at the time of her illness managed an apartment complex in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Donna enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at the County Kitchen, doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and dog Diamond. Her friendship with her best friends Lora Smith and Donna Snider was something she treasured. Donna is survived by her sons, Mike (Brenda) Strong and Christopher Scala of Scottsbluff; daughter, Annette (Ruben) Gonzales of Port Lucie, Florida; grandchildren, Brock, Taylor, Tatum, Haileigh, Darian, Ruben Jr., Tiffany, Alisa, Amanda, Codee, Breanna, Kayden, and Brooklyn Rose; brothers, Leslie (Betty) Cox of Augusta, Georgia and Doyle (Linda) Cox of Fresno, California; sisters, Florence Adkisson and Shirley Strong of Scottsbluff; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters, Roselee, Paula, and Wanda Ann; and grandson, Cody.
