Doris Mae Johnson passed September 8, 2024 in Minatare, Nebraska. She was born March 10, 1927 to Orval Hiram and Elizabeth Gertrude (Buskirk) Johnson at home on her Grandpa Johnson’s farm in the Lake Minatare area of Scotts Bluff County. Doris was the second child of six. Doris earned her early childhood education in rural schools in Western Nebraska, graduated from the 8th grade in Angora, and graduated from Minatare High School in 1945.
Doris was self-employed until she started her career at Lockwood Corporation in 1975, retiring in 1989 to take care of her mother.
Doris was preceded by her parents Orval Hiram Johnson and Elizabeth Gertrude Johnson, one brother, Harold Johnson and one sister, June Louise Phipps. Doris is survived by two sisters, Betty Smith and Anna Marie Alkire, one brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Barbara Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at East Lawn Cemetery in Minatare, Nebraska.
