

Edward F. Bohl, 94, of 2550 21st Street, Gering, Nebraska, passed away March 4, 2010 at Northfield Villa Care Center, Gering, Nebraska. Memorial services will be held at Northfield Villa in Gering, Nebraska and officiated by Rev. Dale Brown on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery in Grand Island, Nebraska, where graveside prayers will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 3 p.m. weather permitting, with Livingston-Sonderman Funeral Home in charge. The Rev. Lonnie Logan, First Congregational Church, will conduct the service. Immediate family will not be present due to health concerns. Memorials may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice, Two W. 42nd Street, Suite 2300, Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361. Edward was born March 29, 1915, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Phillip and Margaret (Liebsack) Bohl. He received his education in Grand Island. He moved to Northfield Villa in Gering, Nebraska with his wife, Helen Hilton Bohl, in October 1991. Edward was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad Company in Grand Island for 35 years. He retired in 1976. He was a charter member of the United Congregational Church in Grand Island. He was an avid reader and kept up on current events. He also enjoyed playing golf and traveling. Edward married Helen Hilton of Lincoln, Nebraska on May 17, 1941, in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Their only child, Georgia Ann, was born on November 28, 1945. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Helen; his parents; grandparents; two sisters, Dorothy Bohl and Irene McQuown; brother, Melvin Bohl and brother-in-law, Paul Ahlin. He is survived by his daughter Georgia and son-in-law Darryl Hughey of Valrico, Florida, two grandsons: Scott Gearhart of Brandon, Florida and Mark Gearhart of Oceanside, California; Great grandchildren, Cody and Cailtlyn Gearhart of Valrico, Florida; sister Delores Ahlin of Glen Allen, Virginia; brother and wife Darold and Virginia Bohl of Grand Island, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Bohl of Grand Island; plus many nieces and nephews.
