Ellsworth H. 'Chuck’ Clampitt, 82, of Scottsbluff passed away Saturday, July 22, 2012 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. As per Chuck’s request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, at the Federated Church in Mitchell with Doctor Charles Richardson officiating. Chuck was born in Oklahoma, to Glenn and Rose Clampitt on January 20, 1930. He grew up in California where he started his repair business Redwood Petroleum Maintenance. Chuck enjoyed many activities; pilot, small business owner, church deacon, remote control racing, hobby trains and many years of playing softball, which ended just before his 80th birthday. Chuck never met a stranger and has many friends and family. Chuck is survived by his wife, Von E. “Bonnie”Clampitt; sons, Craig and Neal Clampitt; daughters, Debbie McCathern and Cindy Clampitt; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
