Elvera Margarita Montano Marquez

On January 26, 2021, Elvera Margarita Marquez earned her angel wings surrounded by her family via virtual technology at Mercy Hospital of Folsom, in Folsom, CA.Elvera was born October 17, 1940, in Torrington, WY to John and Della (Marquez) Montano. As a young girl she loved spending time on the farm with her family, a bond that lasted her whole life. She graduated from Veteran High School with honors. She went onto attend the University of Wyoming. She later met the love of her life, Margarito Marquez. They married in Scottsbluff, NE in 1968. The couple moved to Sacramento, CA where they raised their two sons, Margarito and David Marquez. She made lasting friendships in her community and her place of employment until retirement. She and her husband Margarito would give rides to friends and family to town in their famous green Escort. Elvera was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends loved traveling to California to visit and spend time with Elvera creating beautiful memories that will be in our hearts forever. She left a lasting impression of love and kindness! Everyone enjoyed the Marquez hospitality a trademark of the John/Della Hospitality! She was devoted Catholic and attended the St. Martin Church in Esparto, CA. She is a true believer in Christ. She leaves behind her sons, Margarito Marquez II and J. David Marquez of Madison, CA; granddaughter Diamond (Alex) Lomeli; great-grandsons Onyx and Ray of Brooks, CA; grandson, Raul Lorenzo of Brooks, CA; brothers, Lawrence (Joann) Montano of Suisun, CA, John (Connie) Montano of Cheyenne, WY, and Manuel (Rita) Montano of Denver, CO; sister, Mary (Harry) Bristol of Minatare, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Pauline Medina. Services will be held at Monument Hill Memorial Park outside of Woodland, CA on Wednesday February 3 at 11 a.m.
