Floyd “Jake” Hauser, age 89, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on July 13th, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, at 10AM at the Berean Bible Church, located at 1701 Ave K in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Scott Clark officiating. Cremation has taken place, per Jake’s wishes. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Flowers may be delivered directly to the church for services.
Jake was born October 10th, 1932, to Jacob Herman and Marie (Obermiller) Hauser in Loop City, Nebraska. Jake grew up in the Rushville area, where he received his education.
In1953, Jake married the love of his life, Dixie Shelly, and shortly after, he was drafted into the US Army to serve in the Korean War. Upon returning from the service, Jake and Dixie moved to Rogers Ranch in Banner County, where he and Dixie started a family. Jake worked as a ranch hand for 21 years.
In 1975, Jake moved his family to Gering, where he began working for Sandberg Imp. for the next 13 years before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie; sons, Doug (Laurie) Hauser and Steve (Tamaris) Hauser, both of Gering; grandsons, Jeremy (Tia) Hauser of Florida and Travis (Christa) Hauser of Wyoming; granddaughters. Cassy (Matt) Taylor of Washington and Micky (Rich) Evans of Gering; 12 great-grandchildren (plus twin great-granddaughters due in December); and one great-great-grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
