

Frances C. Baker, age 88, of Scottsbluff, died Thursday, November 22, 2007, at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 26, 2007, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Willie Coop officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to Prairie Haven Hospice and American Cancer Society. Frances was born January 22, 1919, at Cabool, Missouri to Harold and Irene Holmes. She grew up in the Nisland and Belle Fourche, South Dakota area. She attended Beauty School in Rapid City. She then moved to Scottsbluff with a friend and worked as a beautician at Bailey’s and Pink Parlor. She married Alex Baker, November 28, 1949, at Scottsbluff. Her hobbies included flower gardening, crocheting and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Alex Baker; son, Allen (Jeffery Anne) Baker of Wheatland, Wyoming; daughter, Mary “Jeanie” Russell of Torrington, Wyoming; grandsons, Jim Russell, Jerry (Melody) Russell and Jeff (Patricia Miller) Russell all of Gering; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, two brother and two sisters.
