

George J. Becker, 94, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, at The Residency in Scottsbluff. His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at The Residency in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials have been established to Zion Evangelical Church and Festival of Hope. George was born March 8, 1915, at Ault, Colorado to Alex and Mary (Hoff) Becker. At the age of ten he moved from Ault to the Lake Alice Community where he attended school. He married Mary Kihlthau March 20, 1934, at Harrisburg, Nebraska. He farmed until 1992, when he moved to The Residency. He loved his family and the land the Lord allowed him to farm for many years. Survivors include his son, Norman G. (Ethel) Becker of Kent, Washington; daughters, Gari (Clifford) Robinson of Scottsbluff and Joyce Johnston of Scottsbluff; brother, Eugene (Betty) Becker of Scottsbluff; sisters, Leah Heintz of Brighton, Colorado, Hilda (Louie) Margheim of Lyman and Esther Margheim of Scottsbluff and Dollie (Wilford) Deines of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Scott (Shanna) Robinson of Spring, Texas, Corey Becker of Auburn, Washington, Leo (Rhonda) Johnston of Chesterfield, Virginia; Lisa Rogers of Olathe, Kansas and Marian Becker-Gaudino of Auburn, Washington; great-grandchildren, Amy Rogers, Amber Rogers, Ryan Robinson, Regan Robinson, Juston Johnston, Jacee Johnston, Marco Gaudino, Josie Estay and Zoie Estay; great-great-grandchildren, Austin Smith and Madison Nowles. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary K. Becker; brothers, Alex Becker and Dave Becker; sisters, Rosie Achziger and Helen Williams; and son-in-law, Leo C. Johnston.
