

Gerald G. Fiscus, 65 of Minatare, Nebraska passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at his home. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Community Bible Church in Bayard, Nebraska with Pastor Bradley Kihlthau officiating. Interment will follow at Bayard Cemetery. A prayer service will be Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Gerald was born on May 24, 1945 north of Bayard, Nebraska to Merle A. and Evelyn J. (Petersen) Fiscus. He graduated from Bayard High School in 1963. He started farming in 1968 to 1983. He sold the farm and worked as a cowboy foreman for feedlots and trained horses from 1983 to 1992. Gerald drove truck for several trucking companies, later owning and operating his own trucking business until 2009. He married Sherri K. (Weisgerber) Feil November 20, 1966 and to this union was born Jennifer and JamaLee. Later Gerald married Sharon Francis on December 12, 1997 and joining his family were her daughters Rhonda and Jessica Conklin. Gerald’s favorite pastimes were horses. He loved to help anyone that wanted to learn about horses. He enjoyed going to rodeos and watching his grandson, Cody ride. He was a past 4-H leader. Gerald was a long time member of the Community Bible Church and the Gideons, additionally, he was a lifetime member of AQHA. He was Youth Group Fellowship leader for many years. Gerald was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife Sharon Fiscus of Minatare; daughters: Jennifer (Mike) Fosket of Mitchell and grandson Cody, JamaLee Fiscus and significant other Warren Shaulis of Sturgis, SD, Rhonda Conklin and Jessica Conklin both of Scottsbluff; brothers Merlyn (Vicki) Fiscus and Larry (Sharon) Fiscus both of Bayard and sister Linda (Randy) Wilkins of Bayard; five nephews, three nieces, seven great nephews and nine great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
