

Harvey L. Lacy, 77, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday March 22, 2008 at home, with his family by his side. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 27, 2008 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the Nebraska National Guard. Harvey was born September 9, 1930 in Scottsbluff to A. C. “Red” and Ima (Rich) Lacy. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1948. He entered the Marine Corps in February 1949, and was released to the reserves in February 1950 and called back in December 1950 for the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in June of 1952 and joined the Wyoming National Guard as permanent personnel in 1953. Harvey married his life-long companion Shirley J. Priest on June 6, 1954. Harvey went to work for Independent Plumbing & Heating in March 1957 and was still employed there at the time of his death. Harvey was a lifetime member and past Exalted Ruler of Scottsbluff Elks Lodge #1367 and a member of the American Legion Post #36 of Gering. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Denver Bronco fan. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughters and their families, Vicky and Rick Gable of Gering and son Garrett of Avondale, AZ, Kari & Wayne Denning and daughter Tarin and her husband Paul Gilleland and their son Bryan all of Eau Claire, WI; brothers and their wives Bob & Glenda Lacy, Minatare, NE, Gordon & Karol Lacy of Gering, and Gene & Janie Lacy of Livingston, TX and sister, Claudia Taylor of Scottsbluff; sister-in-law: Stella Spurgeon, Scottsbluff and brother-in-law and wife John & Eloise Priest of Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
