Helen W. Lance, 92, of Gering, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. There will be no services. Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements. Helen was born March 6, 1919 in Sheyenne, North Dakota to Henry S. and Clara O. (Peterson) Grinde. She received her education in Sheyenne and graduated from St. Luke Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo, ND. Helen married LeRoy H. Lance March 9, 1944 in Glendale, CA. She was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital and retired from West Nebraska General Hospital in 1980. Survivors include her son Thomas L. (Annie) Lance of Lakewood, CO, and grandsons and their children: Mike Kling, Scottsbluff, NE and Dave Kling of Ogallala. Preceding her in death were her husband LeRoy and daughter Jean Kling.
