

Henry Huber, 98, of Scottsbluff died Friday, July 10, 2009 at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Salem Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Salem Congregational Church, and Craddle Catchers. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13. Henry was born November 16, 1910 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Henry and Alice (Rosenuer) Huber. As a child, he moved with his family to WaKeeney, Kansas, where he received his education. He then moved with his parents to Garden City, Kansas in 1931 and was employed by Santa Fe Railroad. In 1934, Henry moved with his brother Fred to Scottsbluff. Henry married the love of his life Elnora Bauer January 12, 1941 in Harrisburg, Nebraska. They were happily married for 68 years. To this union three children were born: Carol, Henry and Gary. He was a devoted husband and loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Henry worked very hard to provide for his family. He held various jobs working for A.C. Smith, Howard McLean Company, and did custom potato harvesting. Henry was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt, fish, and trap throughout his entire life. After retirement he made many friends thru his fur and bait business. He was a member of Salem Congregational Church for 68 years. Henry is survived by his loving wife: Elnora of Scottsbluff; children: Carol (Marv) Rogers of Scottsbluff, Ne; Henry (Susan) Huber of Scottsbluff, NE; Gary (Susie) Huber of Johnson Lake, NE; half-brother: Sullivan (Lila) Stenzel of Sun City, AZ.; step-sister: Rachael Duitsman of Seymour, CA.; grandchildren: Jill (Tony) Williams of Gilbert, AZ; Jay (Georgene) Rogers of Gering, NE; Sarah Huber of Scottsbluff, NE; Beka Huber of Salt Lake City, UT; great grandchildren: Jake Rogers of Chadron, NE; Jaimee Rogers of Scottsbluff, NE; Michelle and Conner Williams of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-laws : Mary Huber of Scottsbluff, NE; Maureen Huber of Garden City, KS. and many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: George Stenzel; grandson: Henry Jason Huber; brothers: Jake, John and Fred Huber, half-brother: Reinhold Stenzel; sisters: Leah Huber; half-sister: Leah Peters; step-brothers: Elmer Stenzel, Rudy Stenzel, Ferdinand Stenzel; step-sisters: Molly Hays and Linda Mahlar.
