

Herminia Flores 59, of Scottsbluff went home to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Regional West Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, October 14th, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Her funeral services will be held October, 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Javier Cortez officiating. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport. Visitation will be Friday 9-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the family to be designated to the family at a later date. Herminia was born November 18th, 1951 in Slaton, TX to Maximo and Maria (Solis) Benavides. The family moved to Bridgeport in 1964 where she graduated high school in 1971. After two years of education at University of Nebraska Lincoln Herminia moved back to Scottsbluff. On July 3, 1976 she was united in marriage to Manuel B. Flores in Broadwater. Although there were no children born to this union they were blessed with a special niece, Hannah (Benavides) Kilpatrick and 6 weeks ago a great nephew Kasyn Kilpatrick. Herminia worked various locations before health issues occurred. She worked at Heritage of Bridgeport, Greymare Manor, Western Nebraska Veterans Home, she tutored English and Spanish with Upward Bound. At the time of her death, she was teaching English as a second language and also a contributing columnist for the Gering Citizen. She was a member of the Centro Hispano Weslyano Methodist Church serving as secretary and youth teacher. She recently attended Templo Fuente De Vida in Scottsbluff. Her greatest joy has been serving her Lord since becoming Christian in 1992. She enjoyed studying her bible, spending time with family and friends and writing, writing, and more writing. She is survived by her husband, brothers Mario (Elaine) Benavides Salem, NH, David (Kristi) Benavides Bridgeport, NE. Sisters; Graciela of Scottsbluff and Cynthia (Stephen) Montanez Scottsbluff, NE. nieces: Angela (Joey) Chamberlin and their children Emma and Eva of Methuen Ma, Michelle(Greg) Richards and their daughter Lizzie of Maine, Jennifer Buchanan (Holly Bargg) daughter Kaylin Caron and son Dylon Buchanon of Haverhill Mass, Misty Benavides and daughters Taylor Crawford and Kayleigh Wood of Douglas, WY, Kaliah Douglass of Bridgeport, Hannah (Derek) and son Kasyn Kilpatrick of Scottsbluff, Ruthie(mouse) Mathson of Aurora, Ne, and Jordyn Benavides of Bridgeport, NE; nephews: Antonio (Kathleen) and their children Carter, Ethan, Issac, and Emmersyn of Clinton, Ia. Matthew (Marrisa) of Wellington, Co, Nathan Ybarra of Kearney, NE, Jacob Benavides of Bridgeport. Along with numerous God children. Herminia was preceded in death with her parents, Maximo and Maria Benavides and younger brother Maximo Jr.
