

Jack D. Schanaman, 64, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009, at WestWay Christian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastors Willie Coop and Marshall Smith officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in care of the family. Jack was born July 26, 1944, at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Dave and Dolly (Adler) Schanaman. He grew up and attended schools at Mitchell. Following school he worked construction and farming in this area, including working for close friends Don Lynch and John Hennings for many years. He married Charlotte Boots, August 30, 1986, at Cheyenne, Wyoming. Due to an accident in August of 1988, he was forced to retire. Jack enjoyed yard work, flower gardening and woodworking. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Sons of the American Legion and was very active with Sam’s Wagon Wheel Camping Club. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Schanaman; daughters, Jackie (Roland) Norio of Noblesville, Indiana, Brinda (Rod) Adams of Greeley, Colorado and Lisa (Travis) Harras of Fort Collins, Colorado; son, Danny (Allison) Schanaman of Minnesota; stepdaughter, Kimberli (Arthur) Escalera of Scottsbluff; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brothers, Larry, Ed, Darrill and Roger; sisters, Betty and Sharon; mother-in-law, Arlene Boots of Scottsbluff; brother-in-law, Gary (Wilda Britthouer) Boots of Scottsbluff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bob, Louie and Rich.
