

His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Toby Kendrick officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place at the Crawford Cemetery at a later date. James “Jim” Rodger Quintard was born on July 30, 1933 to Merl and Gertie Quintard in Harrison, NE. Jim graduated from the Sioux County High School in 1950. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. He was a two time purple heart recipient. Jim married Betty Pollard Rickard in 1979, where they made their home north of Scottsbluff. He worked many years for Sash and Door, Hamlet Electric, Lockwood Corporation and owning Ogallala Canvas Co. He retired in 1995. Upon retirement, he rebuilt antique wagons and buggies, raised mules and enjoyed taking his chuckwagon to the Farm and Ranch Museum. Jim enjoyed traveling with Betty, doing crossword puzzles, wood-working, participating in parades and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Betty Rickard Quintard; son Mike and Susan Quintard; stepchildren Karen Rutt, Kathy Parker, Diane Summerville, and Gary Rickard; sister Barbara Joss and cousin Sharron Zeller; grandchildren Whitney Bennett, Ella Quintard, Jami Ankrom, Jaci Jackson, Kasie Purvis, Cody Parker, Jessica Daigle, Jordan Rickard, Courtney Medina and Shaylee Rickard;
Jeremy Pyle and Miranda Pyle; numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews along with many good neighbors and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers and one sister.
