

Joanne D. Harris, 64, of Scottsbluff, died Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 1, 2007, at Monument Bible Church, 4124 Avenue I, Scottsbluff with Pastor Jake Roberts officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Sunday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Memorials in Joanne’s memory may be made to Compassionate Friends, an international organization for grieving families. Joanne was born September 9, 1943, in Richmond, California to Floyd and Esther (Gable) Seder. She returned to Gering as an infant and attended school at Gering Public Schools. Joanne married Phillip T. Harris, October 29, 1976. They lived in Scottsbluff, where she worked as a legal secretary until 1993, when she started her own medical transcribing business doing work for the Women’s Center until her death. Joanne loved all animals and rescued many. She especially loved being a grandmother and deeply loved her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Phillip Harris of Scottsbluff; son, James of Central City; daughter, Theresa Johnson and grandsons, Joshua Nelson and Mathew Johnson of Mitchell; stepson, James Harris, wife Tara and grandson, Logan, Corbin, and Xander, and granddaughter, Gabbie of Torrington, Wyoming; sister, Jeanette of Lincoln; Aunt Jan of Gering; many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and stepson, Joel.
