

John “Jack” T. Watson, 75, of Scottsbluff passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff of Primary Mylefibrosis (Cancer). Visitation will be from 2-7 PM on Monday, March 7th at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 8th at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Giles Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Jack was born December 26, 1940 in Alliance to Jesse and Malvory (Zobel) Watson one of 11 children. Jack rodeoed in his younger years as a bronc rider. He and his brother Jess traveled together hitting every rodeo they could find.
Jack married Joan Best in 1962 and to this union four children were born: Mark, Jolynn, Jesse, and John. The couple divorced in 1987.
Jack married Shirley (Frick) (Ricketts) on October 26, 1991 in Casper, Wyoming and welcomed two step-children to the family: Steve Ricketts and De De Gray.
Jack worked at Lockwood Corp. for over 30 years. He worked at Walmart for 11 years before retiring due to his health.
Jack loved watching all sports on TV, even though he didn’t actually participate in many. He loved playing table shuffleboard and mastered the game quite well.
Jack was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2998 of Gering for several years.
Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years Shirley; Children Jolynn McCarthy, Jesse Watson, and John (Melanie) Watson; step-children Steve Ricketts and De De (Johnnie) Gray; grandchildren Mackenzie, Chase, and Madison Watson and Tyler and Jerod McCarthy; step-grandchildren Jordyn and Karsyn Gray and Zac and Zane Ricketts; brothers Jess Watson of Bayard and Bill (Connie) Watson of Alliance; sisters Mary Ann Blackstone of Bayard, Betty (Lyle) Grant of Alliance, and Malvory (Jim) Shankland of Hyannis; sister-in-law Rosa Watson of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark Watson, brothers George and Dan, and sisters Alice, Bonnie, and Eileen.
