His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at The Rock Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Mitchell Valley Cemetery south of Mitchell. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 pm at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be given to The Rock Church. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
Lon was born June 19, 1927 in Halsey, Nebraska to John and Fern (Shockley) Anderson. He received his education in Halsey. On March 1, 1947 he married Elsimae Cross in Gering.
He ranched and raised cattle. He owned and built numerous airplanes. He enjoyed flying. He also loved to tinker with tractors. Lon loved the Bible.
Lon is survived by his wife Elsimae Anderson of Scottsbluff; daughter Lucille Morris of Banner County; son Leon Anderson of Bayard; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and one on the way; and brothers Jack and John (Swede) Anderson of Palbo, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Charlotte and brothers Bud and Elver.
