

Lydia M. Becking, 90, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Dennis Becking and Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be from 1-6 PM Thursday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Lydia was born January 30, 1924 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska the daughter of Henry and Rose (Kufeldt) Minch. She received her education at Lake Alice School, graduating from Scotts Bluff County Schools. She was united in marriage to Jake Becking, Jr. on November 26, 1944 at Bayard. The couple lived in Michigan, Bridgeport, and Minatare before settling in Scottsbluff where they raised their family. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff and the Women’s Guild.
Lydia was a homemaker – wife, mother, and “Grandma Great”- first and foremost: her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her life. She was a true prayer warrior for each of them throughout their lives.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Suzie Becking of Hays, KS and Jerry and Farrell Becking of Gering; daughters and sons-in-law Joie and Steve Youngs of Scottsbluff and Shelly and Todd Korell of Eaton, Co; brother Ed (Frieda) Minch of Gering; brother –in-law Jerry Nash of Scottsbluff; sisters-in-law Dorothy Minch of Mesa, AZ, Emma Reider of Ft. Morgan, CO, and Eleanor Betz of Gering; and several nieces and nephews.
Lydia was “Grandma Great” to Joshuah (Megan) Becking of Tallmadge, Ohio, Mickie Lee (Matt) Janecek of Gering, Jeremy Youngs of Lincoln, Melissa (Stephen) Bigge of Stockton, KS, Whitney (Lance) Johnson of Omaha, Lance Korell of Seward, Lacey (Justin) Hoffman of Omaha, and Lincoln Korell (fiancé Laura Malcom) of Greeley, CO; great grandchildren Adyson, Jase, Quinton, Maddux, Kyan, and Rayna.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sister Carolyn Nash and brothers Leroy, Harry, Johnny, and Elmer Minch.
