

Margaret Cora Hoffman, 87, of Scottsbluff died Sunday August 9, 2009 at Heritage Estates in Gering. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jim Green officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. Margaret was born February 17, 1922 in Sioux County, NE to Hubert and Beulah (Hutchison) Munroe. She received her education at Liberty School in Sioux County and Scottsbluff Junior College. She married Fred K. “Ken” Hoffman June 18, 1944 in Scottsbluff. Margaret was employed by United Telephone Co/Sprint for thirty-five years. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church, church circle, Extension Clubs, and “Telephone Gals” a group of retired phone ladies who met once a month for lunch which Margaret founded. She enjoyed making ceramics, needlepointing, gardening, and antique collecting with pottery a special interest. She is survived by her husband; daughter: Pamela (Art) Schnell, Scottsbluff; grandson David C. (Stephanie) Mogensen, Centennial, CO; granddaughter Nikki Britain, Parker, CO; great grandsons Spencer, Grant and Tate Britain, Parker, CO; sister Phyllis Maxwell, Scottsbluff, NE. She loved her family with nieces and nephews being extra special to her. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Charles Munroe, and sisters Dorothy Ehrman and Donna Dugger.
