Marie Helena Klein

Marie Helena Klein, 96, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Heritage Estates in Gering. Visitation will be held at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel from 1-7 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 with the family present from 4-7 PM. Her funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ralph Morris officiating. Casual attire is requested. Marie was born August 15, 1920 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Jacob and Anna Marie (Geis) Kehn, German/Russian immigrants. She attended elementary school in Lincoln before the family moved to the North Platte Valley where she attended Creighton Valley School. Marie was united in marriage to Elmer A. Klein on April 28, 1946 at Scottsbluff. The couple farmed in the Victory Hill Community for over 35 years before retiring and moving into Scottsbluff. They were life-long members of St. James Lutheran Church and Marie was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Marie is survived by her children Karen K. (Ben) Benzel of Florida, Roger E. (Kathy) Klein of Gering, and Patricia A. (Tom) Talbott of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Michael A. Klein, sister Henrietta “Jenny” Adair, and brothers Jacob, Jr., Harold, John, Henry, and Conrad.
