

Marilyn Beth Nation, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister passed away on June 5, 2009, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Ron Thomke officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Festival of Hope (www.festivalofhope.net). Beth was born September 17, 1935, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Thomas and Lucille (DeLashmutt) Flynn. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1954, and went to work at the United Telephone Company for the next four years. Beth married her life long love and companion Robert Nation in Harrisburg, Nebraska. They were married for 53 years, and together welcomed into this world four children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She worked along side Robert for 46 years managing the family masonry business, Robert Nation, Inc. Beth will be lovingly remembered for her strength, selflessness, sense of humor, and loving devotion to her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, Randy (Pamela) Nation of Gering, Rick (Kim Wanegar-Nation) Nation of Willington, Connecticut and Thomas (Gerry) Nation of Scottsbluff; daughter, Judy (Eric) Prahl of Rockport, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Travis, Matthew, Derek, Adam, Brieonna, Haley, Brittany and Tyler; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Rasmussen of Thornton, Colorado and Jane (Lloyd) Nation of Gering; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, and brother-in-law.
