

Mary Stobel, 92, of Scottsbluff, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Zion Evangelical Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Garry Schick officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 9:00 a.m. -8:00 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Chimney Rock Villa, Prairie Haven Hospice or to Zion Evangelical Church. Mary was born January 21, 1918 in Minatare, NE to Henry and Julie (Eckardt) Meier. She moved with her family to the Scottsbluff-Gering area as a young child. After school she cleaned homes and business offices. She married Henry Stobel September 13, 1937 in Scottsbluff. Mary led a busy life raising ten children, being a helpmate to her husband, and pianist for the Church Brotherhood for many years at Scottsbluff Zion Church. She was an active member of the church and loved to cook, crochet, and sew but her true joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters: Janice Meisner, Thornton, CO, Betty Ott, Gering, NE, Luci (Dennis) Molko, Meridian, ID, Kathi (Gary) Tuck, Omaha, NE, Pam (Bob) Winters, Castle Rock, CO; sons: Gary (Cora) Stobel, New Bern, NC, Alvin (Diana) Stobel, Aurora, CO, Jim (Judy) Stobel, Aurora, CO, Marvin (Jackie) Stobel, Aurora, CO and Stan (Deb) Stobel, Gering, NE; 28 grandchildren, 34, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, 2 grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.
