

Miguel Carrizales, 81, of Morrill, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morrill with Father Mike Wetovick officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. Visitation will be from 12 – 4:30 PM on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with a Rosary at 6PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morrill. Miguel was born on April 17, 1934 at San Marcos, Texas to Jose and Angelina (Martinez) Carrizales. He was united in marriage to Irene Rodriguez in 1952 at San Marcos. They moved to Nebraska in 1966.
Miguel worked at John R. Jirdon Ag for many years. He also worked at Kelley Bean and Westco until retiring.
Miguel was a big fan of wrestling, Texas Longhorns, and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed long trips to Prairie Wind Casino. He loved cookouts and dancing. Miguel was good natured and was always seen smiling and laughing. He never knew a stranger.
Miguel was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Morrill.
Miguel is survived by his wife Irene, children Paula Gutierrez, Dora (Salvador) Zambrano, Juan (Karen) Carrizales, Cruz (Joe) Gutierrez, Margarito (Peggy) Carrizales, and Alicia (Ezequiel) Mata Jr., grandchildren Gerald, Christopher, Christy, Rick, Gilbert, Robert, Mark, Aaron, Rachel, Erica, Derick, Jordan, Lissa, Jeremy, Michael, and Mariah, 25 great-grandchildren and one on the way, 4 great great-grandchildren, half-brother Valentine Valdez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Angelina, father Jose, infant son Miguel Jr., uncle Jesus, son-in-law Lucio, and great grand-daughter Gabriella.
