

Ronald Sanford Jordan, 77, of Scottsbluff, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 25, 2011 while at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Matt Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the United States Air Force. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff from 9:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church and Buckboard Therapeutic Riding Academy. Ron was born March 15, 1934 in Ellsworth, Maine to Alice and Earle “Cuff” Jordan. He received his education at Ellsworth schools and was active in sports especially baseball and football. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1952. Some of his favorite times were spent at the family camp on Green Lake where he just spent four weeks on vacation with his wife and daughter in August of 2010 Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force in 1953. While stationed in Denver, CO he met his future bride Beverly Mogensen. They were married November 19, 1954 at the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff. They spent the first four years of their marriage in Merced, CA while he continued to serve in the United States Air Force. Their daughter Kathy was born there September 28, 1957. After Ronald was honorable discharged from the Air Force they returned to Ellsworth, Maine where they lived for two years. In late 1959, they moved to Scottsbluff where they have resided since. Their son Jeff was born January 18, 1965. Ron was a master plumber and past president of the City Plumbing Board for many years. He co-founded and co-owned Panhandle Plumbing. Ron and Bev were members of the First United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the Soup Kitchen for several years. He was a life member of Scottsbluff Elks Lodge. He is survived by his daughter Kathy (Tom) Hericks; son Jeff Jordan; grandchildren: Cameron Scott (Brianne) Snell, Brandon James Staman, Trevor Lee Staman, John Thomas Hericks, and Gavin Ronald Jordan; great grandchildren: Peyton Thomas Snell and Emma Camryn Snell; brothers: Kenneth Jordan, and Gerald (Mildred) Jordan, Ellsworth, Maine; sisters-in-law: Doris (Duane) Foote and Shirley (Gale) Pollet. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, parents, and sister-in-law Pat Jordan. His greatest love was his family and nothing to do with any member of his family was too insignificant for his attention. He was well known and greatly respected throughout the community and the family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, support and prayers. The family also wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Joe Jeter, PAC, Dr. Wiebe, the staff at RWMC ICU and third floor for the excellent care that he received during his brief illness. Also, to the staff at Cardiac Rehab, where he has attended for the past five years.
