He was born February 20 1928 in New York to Roy Lincoln and Mae Veronica Reid. He received his early education in New York. He entered the Navy, April 2, 1945 until July 3, 1946.
When discharged from the military, he held various jobs which were mostly construction work with boyhood friends.
He met Beatrice Facano and after a brief courtship married on April 25, 1948. They were married 60 years before Bea passed away in 2011. To this union two children were born. A son, Roy John who passed away in 2000, and a daughter, Ronnie.
They moved from New York to Scottsbluff in 1972. It was at that time that a family venture was started; building and running the KOA campground on HWY 26. After the business was sold in 1986, Roy then worked for a company called Information Providers inspecting homes and businesses for insurance companies.
Roy's passions were his beloved Golden Lab companion Sampson and preaching about Jehovah. Anyone who sat and visited with Roy for more than a few minutes were soon learning about God's Kingdom. He was thrilled when he was able to go out and preach to the community.
He is survived by his daughter, Ronnie; daughter-in-law, Deborah; and special family friends; Laurie Jamson and her family; and Isaac and his wife Ashley Vancil and children.
