

Russell Ray Harsh, 67, of Gering, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home and Crematory and a memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Mitchell City Cemetery. Russell was born April 13, 1948 in Scotts Bluff County to Donald and Opel (Jennings) Harsh. He attended school in Mitchell. He married Loree Christiansen in 1971 and the couple raised their family in the Scottsbluff/Gering area. They later divorced. Russell met Jodene Amateis who was his best bud.
Russell worked in the irrigation industry, working as an Irrigation Specialist for Midwest Farm Services. He loved his cars; his pride and joy was his 1991 Red Corvette. He enjoyed Nascar and archery.
Russell is survived by his son Jason Harsh of Gering; daughter and son-in-law Kristen and Gary Paschke of Rawlins, WY; five granddaughters: Lindsey, Melissa, Natalie, Sara, and Kendra Paschke; two great-grandsons Chance and Easton; best bud Jodene Amateis of Scottsbluff; first wife Loree Lemaster of Cheyenne, WY; brothers Donald Harsh, Jr. of Gering and Arthur (Vikki) Harsh of Lincoln, NE; sisters JoAnn Ross of Lisco, NE and Brenda Masoner of Scottsbluff; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy Harsh and sister Joan.
