Sidney LeRoy Castellaw

Sidney LeRoy Castellaw, 76, of Bayard, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Bayard with Pastor George Naylor officiating. Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery with military rites by the Nebraska National Guard. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Sid was born November 10, 1931 in Bayard, NE to Roy and Alice (Deborskie) Castellaw. He received his education in Bayard and entered the Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged February of 1955. He married Beverly Ronneker August 23, 1955 in Bayard, NE. Sid worked for the Farmer’s Irrigation Company for 40 years and helped many area farmers during harvest. He was employed by the Bayard Golf Course for 5 years. He is survived by his wife Beverly; children Starlene Castellaw of Gering, Kenneth (Leicia) Castellaw, Brighton, CO, Brenda (Greg) Muhr, Gering, NE, Sidney Dean Castellaw, Yoder, WY, and Susan (Jason) Castellaw, Scottsbluff, NE; brothers: Marvin (Myra) Castellaw, Helendale, CA and Delbert Castellaw of Fairbanks, AK; grandchildren Andy (Tiff) Muhr, Dusty (Jennifer) Muhr, Chris Castellaw, Shanae Castellaw, Isaiah Castellaw, Tanner Schaneman, Trayton Schaneman and Sydney Castellaw; great grandchildren: Calista Muhr, Ella Muhr, Marcella Televat, Jasmine Castellaw and an unborn Muhr due in October. He was preceded in death by his parents, half sister Wandam brothers Kenneth, Lloyd, Milton “Shark”, Harold and an infant brother and sister.
