Treva was born on June 19, 1929, to Fred and Eva (McKinley) Gross in Gering, Nebraska. She attended Melbeta schools until the family moved to Glendo, Wyoming and she graduated from Glendo High School in 1946. After graduation Treva moved back to Gering working for McCosh Drug Store until her adventurous spirit took her to California. She worked for Bundy Drug Store in Brentwood, a city between Los Angeles and Santa Monica where movie stars would come into the drug store frequently. She moved back to Gering in 1955. On February 7, 1957, she married Bill Templar where they continued to live in Gering and raise their family. Treva was a stay at home Mom until the kids were grown and she went to work for Masek’s Sports. With Bill’s involvement in the Volunteer Fire Service on the local, state and national level, this brought them many life-long friends that continued to stay in touch with her even after Bill’s passing. Treva was also a member of the Gering Fireman’s Auxiliary. Family meant the world to her and with each new addition whether it being a new baby being born or the addition of a new family member through marriage or even a friend of her kids or grandkids – all were welcomed into her family and her heart.
Mom lived a long, full and blessed life and even with her health struggles in the last few years, it also brought along a chance to meet new friends and to be well cared for and loved by those at Heritage Estates. The family appreciates all the love and care she received there.
