

Reverend Troy D. Allen, 84, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at First Assembly of God Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM Tuesday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be given to the church. Troy was born March 10, 1930 at Bird City, Kansas to Claude C. and Avis (Curry) Allen. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 5, 1955 he was united in marriage to Darlene Winter at St. Francis, Kansas. He was ordained in Great Bend, Kansas in 1977. The couple pastored in churches in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming for over 55 years, including a radio ministry in Scottsbluff. He was the minister at First Assembly of God Church during its construction. He was an avid music lover, especially southern gospel quartet music.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of Scottsbluff; sons Mark and friend Lizabeth Morrow-Nold of Westminster, CO, Kirk of Seattle, WA, and Byron and friend Michelle Serl of Scottsbluff; and daughter Connie and husband Jim Morris of Westminster, CO. Troy loved his grandchildren Mandi, Drew, Lindsay, Natalie, James, Cassidy, Caitlin, Sophie, and Hannah and great-grandchildren Olivia and Samuel. He is also survived by his brothers Neal and wife Joy of Phoenix, AZ and Jack and wife Leanne of Tomah, Wisconsin; sister Roberta Winter of Canyonville, OR; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Doyt, Wayne, Gerald, and Merrill; sisters Joyce and JoAnn, and brother Robert and sister Kathryn who both died in infancy.
Reverend Allen was a champion prayer warrior for abused children, shut-ins, and kept a strict schedule of visitations for those who were unable to attend church services.
