Twyla was a generous, intelligent, and thoughtful person.  She did not suffer fools.  She was a scientist and business women.  Funny, witty, and gracious.  A good friend.  She was a remarkable women who is missed by her friends.

Your dreams were always BIG, there wasn’t anything you didn’t tackle!  A life well lived.  I will keep in my heart the love of the past, it was planted forever to last.  So happy for you that you are reunited with so many you loved.  Peace be with you

Lane, her younger brothers Kenneth Alan and David W Lane, her ex husband, Kenneth Lusk, and her best friend, Richard Burns. Many of her other friends and family over the years and so many pets. 

She is survived by her daughter, Tyann Nansel and granddaughter, Courtnie Nansel. And numerous other family members.

together sailing, traveling, owning an antique store and many more memories. They were married and became a blended family with Kenneth’s children. Twyla made many beautiful memories with the children and watched them grow up. Twyla had a beautiful relationship with Kenneth’s daughter Tyann and eventually on July 13 1990, Courtnie was born. Twyla and Courtnie were two peas in a pod sharing the same birthday.  Throughout the years together they collected rocks, talks about life, golf stories, and gardening. Despite being very in love with each other Kenneth and Twyla divorced. After that, Twyla moved to Old Lyme, CT to be closer to her brother. While living in Connecticut, Twyla met Richard over a tuna sandwich and a tub of mint ice cream. No one quite understood the love that grew between Richard and Twyla. They quickly became best friends, world travelers, and companions. In 2009, Twyla and Richard decided to move to Loveland Colorado. Twyla was very happy here. She made a lot of friends from all different walks of life. She had a great love for animals, especially her doggies and kitties. She spent a lot of time with stray animals, and showing them affection.Twyla loved gardening and journal every year‘s garden. She wanted to make sure each year her garden improved and produced the best flowers and vegetables. She loved quilting and spent a lot of time with her neighbor doing that. She like to go for walks around her neighborhood. Twyla loved trying new things and exploring. She also loved writing and reading. She enjoyed taking art classes, painting, and pottery. She never turned down a good challenge. A few years ago, Twyla was diagnosed with dementia. This changed a lot of things for her and was scary for her and the people that were closest to her. She was very strong and did her absolute best to get through it. Despite the challenges in difficulties at the end of her life, she was still very loved.

Twyla Jo Lane was born July 13, 1936, in St Louis, MO to Kenneth and Deva Lane. Shortly after that Twyla had two younger brothers join the family and she adored them. Twyla was enrolled in Lindberg Elementary school and then at Lafayette High School. Twyla was a hard worker helping her father on the farm no matter the weather. She was strong just like the boys. Twyla also spent a lot of time with her mother reading and writing. She also loved to help prep the meals for the farm hands. Her brothers were a big piece of her pride and joy. During highschool Twyla went through a mischievous and ornery stage causing some havoc for her parents. She always had a rebellious streak. After high school she attended St. Joseph Junior College graduating in 1954 and continued promptly with a one year internship at Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology. Twyla wanted to see the world and travel to new places so she accepted a job in Albuquerque, NM with Bernalillo County Indian Hospital. She fell in love with learning about the culture in that area. Twyla had the urge for new scenery and her younger brother Kenny lived in California, so she moved there in 1960, and began work at several small hospitals including a private laboratory in Beverly Hills giving her the opportunity to work with film stars. While living in California she received a Master of Science Degree. During her time in California, she also opened a small boutique called, A Little Something From Twyla. She would purchase unique items and sell them out of her store so only a few people had the product. She loved her little store. Shortly after she received her masters degree, she decided to move back to Scotts Bluff Nebraska to care for her parents and her sick brother. Twyla spent seventeen years supervising Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, and Routine Chemistry at West Nebraska General Hospital. While living in Scottsbluff Twyla met Kenneth Lusk.
