

Vivian B. French, 94, of Scottsbluff, passed away, Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 9, 2007, at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Father Kelsey Hogue offciating. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Gering. Vivian was the daughter of C.B. and Mary Frost. She was born in Vernon, Kansas on March 2, 1912. She married Jack French in Tribune, Kansas on February 10, 1930. Vivian was active in her children’s activities and also enjoyed music and gardening. Vivian and her husband were square dancers and avid rock hounds. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Panhandle Rock and Gem Club, Oregon Trail Square Dance Club and did volunteer church work. Survivors include a son, George French and wife Kim of Chadron; daughters, Joan Stott and husband Norm of Casper, Wyoming and Barbara Griffea and husband Jim of Wood Ridge, Virginia; sister Eunice Youkey of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; husband, Jack French; and sons, Vaughn French and Marvin French.
