Warren Ivan Leeling

Warren Ivan Leeling, 78, entered into rest on Monday, August 27, 2007 at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, NE. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2007 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Mike Boyd and Jim Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park west of Scottsbluff. The Warren Leeling Memorial Fund has been established. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and prior to the funeral Friday. Warren was born on November 27, 1928 at Crawford, NE to Herman and Cora (Swope) Leeling. He received his education in Flattop and Manville, WY. Warren was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Keeline, WY. Also in this church, he was united in marriage to Clarabelle Faye Kittelman on June 5, 1949. To this union four children were born. Warren went to work for Continental Oil Company at the age of 16. During his twenty years of employment, he worked in Lance Creek, WY, Brush, and Craig, CO. Warren was a self-taught gunsmith and his hand-carved gun stocks were famous. He decided to move the family to Scottsbluff, NE to operate his own business, Warren’s Sporting Goods and Liquor Store. A few years later he went to work for Ledbetter’s, Modern Music and Panhandle Co-op Appliance Store until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest pleasure was his little piece of “paradise”, 20 acres along the river and his private fishing hole, where he enjoyed watching all types of wildlife. His love of nature could be seen in his paintings and stained glass works. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Clarabelle; sons: Warren Ronald (Suzanne Grasmick), Terry Eugene(Renee) and Ricky Lee; daughter: Tamera Faye (Jim Lawson); two grandsons: Chad Lee Leeling (Amanda Broderick)and Jason Eugene Leeling and three great-grandchildren: Cameron Eugene, Karsyn Yvonne and Genevieve Eugene Leeling; and sister: Margaret Heine, Torrington, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
