

Bill will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
Bill was born June 15, 1943, in Daingerfield, Texas to Leonard Arthur Chambliss and Josephine Crain Chambliss
Bill graduated from East Texas State University with a masters degree in education. He was hired as an employee of Dallas Independent School District after his graduation from ETSU. He was drafted into the US army as a 1st Lieutenant after approximately 2 years with Dallas Independent School District and was deployed to Vietnam. He served in the Corps of Engineers during his time in the service (1967-1969) where he was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptionally mentoring service from November 1, 1968 to March 31, 1969. He was also awarded a Nation Defense service metal, a Vietnam service medal and a Vietnam campaign medal during his time in the army.
Bill married Sharon on February 14, 1970 in Houston Texas and they were later blessed with three beautiful daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Mr. Bill Chambliss was the Seagoville Council member Place 1 from June 2013-May 2014 and the Seagoville Council member Place 4 from June 2014-May 2015.
Bill returned to the DISD and taught industrial art and drafting for several years and advanced to be the specialist in training operations in the maintenance department in the DISD where he was involved with setting up training for employees to move up in their chosen career field. He Retired from DISD in 2014.
Bill was talented in carving, leather wallets, checkbooks, belts, purses, clocks and animals. He also built furniture for our home and enjoyed reading novels. He loved working in his garden raising various vegetables.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Marie Kihn Chambliss; Daughters, Shannon Benton, Cheryl Davis, and Kathy Williams; Grandchildren, Walter Claibourne, Natacia Hicks, Corey Harrison, Felisha Kafka, Courtney Williams, Hunter Hunt; Great-grandchildren, Audrina Claibourne, Zane Hicks, Levi Hicks, Isabella Harrison and Benjamin Baucom. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Chambliss along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Josephine Chambliss, and his brothers, Kenneth Chambliss and Jerry Chambliss.
A visitation for Bill will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM, and the committal service at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
