

Billie Jean Davis (81) of Balch Springs, Texas went home to the Lord on November 1, 2016. She was born in Dallas, Texas on January 23, 1935 to Thomas Jefferson Shepherd and Winnie Ora Williamson Shepherd. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Jay Davis Jr.; her sister Gladys Sanders; sons James Paul Rogers and Charlie Lee Rogers. Left with hearts full of cherished memories is her daughter Melba Moynihan & husband Brian of Aubry, TX.; daughter Marilyn Thompson & husband Tony of Balch Springs, TX.; daughter Loria McGee & husband William of Rowlett, TX.; daughter Kathleen Bell & husband JW of Abernathy, TX.; daughter Joyce Williams & husband Greg of Wills Point, TX.; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister Geraldine Malone of Mesquite, TX.; brother Thomas Shepherd & wife Glenda of East Tawakoni, TX.; sister Clarice Shepherd of Balch Springs, TX.; sister Debbie Murphy & husband Mike of Aubry, TX.; daughter-in-law Diane Rogers and a host of nieces, nephews and numerous other family loved ones and beloved friends. Billie was a fighter who refused to quit. She endured many medical conditions, never complaining and never slowing down. She was a breast cancer survivor. In the early 1980’s, doctors had given Billie less than one year to live. She enjoyed watching cooking shows. She was an awesome cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She also enjoyed sewing. Billie would make her own patterns and sew clothing for her daughters. Billie was happiest when she was with family. She loved her family very much. Her grandchildren were her heart. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6-8pm Friday November 4 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville, Texas where Billie will be laid to rest beside her loving husband Jay in the Garden of Scriptures. Bro. Bobby Pritchett will officiate.
