David Blagburn

David was born August 22, 1945 in Fruitvale, Texas to Joe L. Blagburn and Margaret (Rohus) Blagburn. His parents raised him along with his 8 siblings in the northeast Texas area.

He will always be remembered as a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him.

David was a simple man who loved his family and his country deeply. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1968. During which time he received a purple heart for his injuries sustained during combat which led to his honorable discharge.

Following his time in the military, David found his passion for carpentry where he began his over 40 year career in residential carpentry. When not working, he was an avid fisherman and coin collector. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to country music. He loved to cook and loved it even more when he got to do it for friends and family, his daughters always said he made the best fried potatoes on the planet.

David is survived by his three beautiful daughters, Melissa Burnett and husband Tim, Laura Dart and husband Don, Renee Purcell and husband Ruben Jr.; 8 grandchildren, TJ Burnett, Trey Burnett, Tyler Burnett and Wife Elizabeth, Aaron Dart, Devlin Dart, Kevin Purcell, Lerin Purcell, and Cali Purcell; 6 Great Grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Blagburn, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Joe Blagburn; his mother, Margaret Blagburn; sisters, Etta Ruth Dunlap and Beulah Dunlap; brothers, RV Blagburn, Ray Blagburn, Jake Blagburn, Lazelle Blagburn, and Kenneth Blagburn.

A visitation for David will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. The committal service with military honors will occur Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12:00 PM
