Doris Imogene Poe

Doris Imogene Poe, 83, of Scurry, TX, passed away on July 12, 2015 at Kemp Care Center. She was the widow of Thomas Wayne Poe with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Imogene was born on July 24, 1931 to Buford and Ruth (Allen) Collins in Malakoff, TX , where she also attended Malakoff High School. Imogene was a partner/founder of Poe Motors. Over the years she enjoyed church, bowling, quilting, traveling and enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Dallas, TX for 23 years and then became a member of First Assembly of God in Kaufman, TX. Imogene also attended church at Kemp Care Center. She “went to church all of her life” and is surely in Heaven with her Savior now. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Wayne Poe, daughter Phyllis Ray and son-in-law Tom Ray. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Tommy Poe; daughter Barbara Sharpe; sister Geraldine Saratt; seven grandchildren: Tracy Poe, Keri Frank, Devon Allen, Jason Ray, Angela Douglas, Kimberly Smith and Phillip Ray; 16 wonderful great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by interment in the Garden of Valley View where she will be laid to rest by her husband. Pallbearers are Chris Douglas, Colton Migura, Justin Eddy, Doug Frank, Adrian Cook, Bobby Sarratt and Benny Sarratt.
