

Lorene graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1949. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove First Baptist and First Baptist Church of Urbandale. Lorene was a proud member of the Eastern Stars. She was an avid bowler and was currently bowling in two leagues in Rowlett and Garland. Lorene drove a school bus for Dallas ISD for over 40 years until her retirement. She loved to travel and go on cruises, but more than anything, she loved her family.
Preceding her in death are her loving husband E.J. “Hubcap” Puyear; brothers Allen and Stanley Merriman; sisters Dorothy Beckett and Mary Lou Cummings, grandson Todd Russell Crocker and husband, Charles “Pete” Reid.
She is survived by her sons Charles Reid and wife, Mary, Eddie Puyear and wife, Teresa, Danny Puyear and wife, Jennifer and daughter Theresa Pinkston; grandchildren: Amy Reid, Casey Pinkston, David Reid, Jaime Littlejohn, Shanda Castleberry, Daniel Gilles, Julie Ashton, Josh Puyear, Chery Pinkston, Michael Puyear and Kim Chauvin; great-grandchildren: Haylie, Katy, Colton, Caleb, Blake, Chloe, Cason, Jaxon, Chali, Ceeli, Presley, London, Bristol, Titus, Hayden, Landry and Ainsley; niece Donna Vela and nephews Curtis and Bobby Cummings, along with a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly. Affectionately known as “Granny” to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was always available to her family and they will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest by her beloved husband in the Garden of Valley View.
