Happy birthday Granddaddy, love and miss you! Thank you for all of the incredible memories that we shared. From Autumn and I.

I’m blessed to have been in my Father’s company for 2 days shy of 47 years. On Monday 8/10, I was able to spend 2 hours by his side. Even though he had been in hospital since May 29th, he never wavered from his character. His first question was, “Where’s everybody else?” and his last was, “Tell everyone I love & miss them.” A true family man to the end. That defines my Dad. He decided as a young man what he wanted from life & spent his time living his dream. I’m at peace knowing that Dad lived his life doing what he wanted to do most. As I reflect while listening to his favorite music & sorting through pictures, I realize the profound impact he’s had & will continue to have on my life. The characteristics that have made me the man I am, I owe solely to him. Two of which are Dedication and Devotion. A simple but an exact description of my D.A.D. As we begin to mourn his passing, I know that Dad would insist we celebrate his life. I want to thank everyone for their condolences, concern & sympathy. I pray while we remember Dad, together we can  look to the future discovering a ‘new normal.’

My Grandaddy was an amazing man that will be forever missed by us all.
Every time walking into the house “How’s your car running?” Just to make sure what I was driving was the safest out there. A question now that I’ll miss hearing.
He is also the reason I look down at night in the summer when walking outside and have been for almost 27 years.... hidden snakes.

You are missed tremendously, Grandaddy.

It all started for me with four little words, “Ya gotta dial NINE.” Little did I know a true friendship was born that day. Clint and I would sit in a parking lot at work till 1-2am (MOST NIGHTS) knowing we had to be back in 4-6 hours... but I never wanted him to stop with those stories. I heard GREAT stories about family and fun. And you can only get those stories by growing up with a great Mom and Dad. 
I only met him once, but I felt I knew everything I needed to know about the man though his son stories.
Rest In Peace Mr. Farr... your the dad I wished I could have had... the dad  we ALL should have.

When it comes to my Granddaddy you typically knew what you were going to get, and somehow he could still surprise you.  When the season turned to Spring, you would be instructed to watch out for "The  Big One" (snake), and I knew when I walked into the house on a Saturday evening I'd always hear the familiar "Hey Aaron, how's work goin'?" come from his chair in the living room. That only changed when Autumn was born, and I would hear "Hey Aaron, is Autie with you?" I have never taken for granted that I was lucky enough to have you for almost 34 years. As my Papa simply characterized you, "Frank Farr was a good man, he had a good life, and he has a great family."

My grandaddy was a man of few words but he loved all of us so very much.  I will always remember him calling Nana from the other room as soon as he took his first bite of dinner...."Sharon!...this is good." (no matter what it was she made)...he would say it the same way...every night! Love you Grandaddy.

We have so many memories of you from your love of Mom's pies and Christmas candy to your dislike of snakes. We will miss you and your one of a kind Dadisms...

My heart goes out to the Farr family. I am the proud father in law of his son Clayton. I admire this family and how close they are. I am so glad I got to meet Frank at last years Christmas party. We really hit it off from the very start.
