Franklin W Powell

Frank Powell, age 68, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in an auto collision on his way home from work. He was born July 23, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida to Jim Powell and Lucia "Lucy" Guzman Powell.

Frank graduated from Spruce High School in Dallas, Texas, before pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. After serving in the accounting department at Parkland Hospital, he started exploring new paths as a businessman, salesman, and driver. Running routes with Dee's Candies in D/FW and Houston, he also worked for Schwan's Foods to provide for his family. He later transitioned to seeing the country as a truck driver and working in shipping and receiving for local warehouses.

Frank had a love for traveling to such places as Colorado, Arkansas, and as far as Florida to scuba dive. He was a regular playing at gaming establishments to pad his "retirement fund".

Frank is survived by his son, Dominic Powell, and his daughter-in-law Shannon; His grandchildren, Kaleb, Haley, Luke, and Abigail; along with his brother, William "Bill" Powell, and sister, Marie (Powell) Lane.

Proceeding him in death were his parents, Jim and Lucy Powell, and his children, Meredith and Stephan.
