Gary was born at Harris Hospital in Ft Worth, Texas on February 1, 1964. His parents were the late Vesta L. Lusk and Wilma Antwine Lusk from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He is survived by his sister, Karen Lusk Bailey who lives in Cupertino, California with her family. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins from both his father’s and mother’s sides of the family, as well as his dear friend and mentor, Don Poteet of Seagoville, TX.
Gary spent his childhood in Everman and Burleson, Texas. He was adopted as a baby and had a happy childhood. He was funny, mischievous, stubborn, and well-loved. In an effort to complete his high school education he went on to earn his GED in 2010. Gary was a member of the FFA during high school because he liked taking care of horses and cattle. Gary was gentle and kind-hearted around animals and he worked with them until his death.
Gary’s memory will be honored by his friends and family with a small Memorial service at Roselawn Memorial Funeral Home in Seagoville. Date and time TBD.
Ultimately, the following quote encapsulates how Gary saw life-
“I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to.”
